Are you going to be in Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains for New Year’s? If so, we have a wonderful activity for you all to do to bring in the year 2021. Not only is it a celebratory and fun event, but it is also free. The Island in Pigeon Forge will be hosting a big celebration to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome the new year. The Island is a fun place to be no matter what the time of day as there are plenty of activities, shopping, sightseeing and dining to do from morning to night. On New Year’s Eve, the celebration will begin at 8pm, and the main events will start at 9pm. All ages are welcome as this is a family friendly event.
The Island will be offering a lot of live entertainment to kick things off! First up will be Jed Wyatt, who is a Sevier County native who sings and writes songs. Afterward, Jackie Lee will take the stage. For not familiar with her, she is a country artist that is also a Tennessee native. To end the evening of entertainment, Free Daps will take the stage. Everyone is sure to love them! For you Disney World lovers out there, you may have heard of them before. They gained a lot of popularity at the park doing freestyle rap and comedy.
Large video screens will be up so rest assured, you will be able to see the performances. Not only are their some great restaurants at The Island such as Margaritaville and Paula Deen’s, there will be numerous food trucks for people to grab a bite to eat at.
The big event of fireworks will begin at midnight to ring in the new year. Fireworks are always a great event to watch and both kids and adults will enjoy it!
To promote social distancing and keep everyone safe, this year’s New Year’s Eve event will take place in the parking lot of The Island. This is a large parking area between The Island and the LeConte Convention Center. All guests are asked to wear masks and temperature checks will be required upon arrival. They want everyone to enjoy the celebrations, but all while keeping safe.
New Year’s is such a fun time to be in Pigeon Forge. I swear, there is no better place to ring in a new year than the Great Smoky Mountains!
